I am Antonia Lange, a 20-year-old artist from Berlin. In my artistic work I primarily focus on myself, my life and my emotions. I consider art as a tool to better understand my inner processes and to capture any emotional extremes in my artworks permanently. I also use art as a tool to process my emotions and thoughts: If I feel a strong emotion (positive or negative), I try to visually represent the current sensations through various mediums. I start creating and do not stop until the emotion has calmed down and has become attached to the art piece. Through this, the entire event of emotional processing is forever captured in my art. If my work begins in a negative emotional state, it transforms itself into something new and positive through the artistic process. Most of my recent work (2022, 2023) stems from periods in my life when I have felt intense confusion, stress, anxiety, and/or despair and have found myself again through art. My goal is to show the highs and lows of the human experience, as well as giving the viewer a piece of hope along the way. It is meant to demonstrate: "negative" emotions have a right to exist. It is possible to get through the darkest and most challenging phases of one's life and you may even gain something positive from it.
